Ilias Ermenidis (a k a ILE)

Greek by birth, Ilias Ermenidis was born in Istanbul where the East and West meet. He moved to Athens at the age of ten and decided to follow the challenging path of creative perfumery when he was eighteen instead of pursuing a career in the family business involved in fragrances and flavors. After studying perfumery for four years at the "Institut Superieur International Du Parfum" (ISIPCA) in Versailles, he joined Firmenich in Geneva in 1986. From 1988 to 1995 he worked as a Fine Fragrance Perfumer at Firmenich Paris.

After seven years in Paris, Ilias Ermenidis now lives and works in New York. He has created fragrances in partnership with Oscar de la Renta, The Estee Lauder Companies, Givenchy, Alfred Sung, Escada, Halston, Byblos Iceberg, etc.
